OnePlus Y1S Smart TV to launch soon in India, here is everything we know

OnePlus launched the OnePlus 9RT handset last week and it went on sale yesterday in the Indian market. OnePlus is now set to expand its range of affordable TVs in India. The company already sells televisions from its U1S series, Q1 line-up, and the Y-series and the upcoming range would be placed under a new one called the Y1S.

According to 91Mobiles and known tipster Ishan Agarwal, the Chinese smartphone maker is planning on launching new Y1S smart TVs in two sizes. This includes 32 inch and 43 inch sizes. In other words, the two new models will also be available for purchase alongside the existing U1S, Y series, and Q1 lineup, which are being sold in India via Amazon, Flipkart, and the company’s official website as well.

Both models are tipped to come with HDR10+ support and Dolby Audio with Atmos decoding. The televisions will be equipped with 20W speakers. The OnePlus Y1S TV series is also expected to come with Android TV 11 OS. The report also adds that the televisions will feature dual-band WiFi connectivity compared to only 2.4GHz WiFi on the previous TV Y series.

The upcoming OnePlus smart TVs under the Y1S series are expected to be priced at around Rs 25,000 in India. The base model with a 32-inch screen could be launched at around Rs 20,000.

There is no official word on the launch timeline at the moment. However, we can expect the smart TVs to debut in February or March 2022. The company had launched the OnePlus TV 40Y1 as part of the Y-series back in May of 2021.

They joined the OnePlus TV 32Y1 and OnePlus TV 43Y1 models in India. The OnePlus 40Y1 came with a 40-inch display and was priced at Rs.21,999 while the other two got a price tag of Rs.15,999 and Rs.26,999 respectively.

The preceding OnePlus TV 40Y1 range came with the Android TV 9.0 OS. It also got native file managers, picture galleries, content calendars, etc. As was the case with the previous models, these televisions were compatible with every smartphone that could download the OnePlus Connect from Google Play or App Store.
