OnePlus has started rolling out new software updates for some of its smartphones that will enable support for Jio 5G. The company has confirmed the release of the latest updates via its community forum. The update is being pushed out for the OnePlus Nord 5G and Nord CE 5G. Just a few weeks back, the OnePlus 10R, OnePlus 10T, and OnePlus 10 Pro received the same update.

Both the OnePlus Nord devices already have support for Airtel 5G and they are now getting support for Jio 5G network. The latest software update also brings improvement to system stability and fluidity. It even offers Android security patch for the month of October. Do keep in mind that this is an incremental update and will reach all the users gradually.
“As always, this OTA will be incremental. The OTA will reach a small percentage of users today, and we'll begin a broader rollout in a few days,” the company said. OnePlus users can also check for the update manually if they haven’t received a notification for this. People just need to go to the phone’s setting section and then jump to software to check for the update.
The OnePlus Nord was the first affordable smartphone from the company, which made its debut back in July 2020. The handset isn’t eligible to receive OxygenOS 13 and Android 13 update. It will continue to get Android security patches until July 2023. The OnePlus Nord CE will get it because this mid-range device was announced in June 2021. However, the device is scheduled to receive the first OxygenOS 13 open beta update in H1 2023.
In case you are unaware, both Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel rolled out 5G services in India last month. Though the service is currently available in select cities. The telecom companies have promised to spread 5G in all parts of the country by the end of 2023. Those who are based in cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and others can enjoy 5G.
