Google Pixel 7a specifications emerge online ahead of official launch

Google's Pixel 'a' series smartphone is usually a toned-down iteration of its flagship devices, which is also more affordable. Naturally, due to its affordability, some key features on the Pixel 'a' phone are missing, which upsets many customers. It appears the next-gen Pixel 7a, the toned-down version of the Pixel 7 series, will finally feature a high refresh screen and upgraded rear camera system over the Pixel 6a. Google is reportedly developing the Pixel 7a under the codename 'lynx'.
According to developer Kuba Wojciechowski, the Google Lynx smartphone won't be called Pixel Mini or Pixel Ultra. The developer spotted the text "Pixel 22 Mid-range" on one of Google phone's "camera drivers" - indicating that the Lynx device is a mid-range smartphone and not a flagship. Specifications-wise, the leak claims the Pixel 7a will come with an IMX787 wide camera sensor and a Sony IMX712 ultra-wide camera sensor. To recall, the Pixel 6a carries IMX386 camera sensors for wide and ultra-wide shots. It also means there won't be a telephoto camera that features on the Pixel 7 Pro.

Wojciechowski points out that the Pixel 7a would feature a 90Hz display instead of a 60Hz display. It will essentially give users a smoother scrolling experience. In another tweet, he said that the smartphone would support wireless charging, only with 5W input.

In terms of pricing, Wojciechowski claims that if Google can maintain the $449 (roughly Rs 36,000)selling price, it will "most likely be a killer deal". A new display featuring a high refresh rate, wireless charging, a brand new camera sensor and Google's usual reliable software updates will make the Pixel 7a a very competitive Android phone in the market.

Google launched the Pixel 6a and Pixel 7 series in India earlier this year, and the company may consider launching the Pixel 7a when it debuts. The Pixel 6a launched in India for Rs 39,999, and the vanilla Pixel 7 for Rs 59,999. We can expect the Pixel 7a to cost between Rs 40,000 to Rs 50,000.
