By Sneha Saha: Google has been working on its foldable phone for a really long time now. Just a few weeks after the launch of the Pixel 7 series, details of Google’s foldable phone have surfaced online. The latest report related to the Pixel foldable phone suggests that the dual displays will be manufactured by Samsung. The report also revealed the screen size and the refresh rate of the upcoming Pixel Fold.

According to a report coming from 91Mobiles, the inner display, which is said to measure 7.58-inches of the Pixel Fold, will come with support for a 120hz screen refresh rate. The inner display comes with support for 1840x2208 pixels resolution. The upcoming Google Pixel foldable phone is also said to offer 1200 nits of peak brightness with an average of 800 nits most times.

While no other specification details have been confirmed yet, some reports suggest that the Pixel Fold will launch next year. In fact, Google has also confirmed the launch of its Pixel tablet next year, which the company showed a glimpse of during the Google October event.

With its foldable phone, Google already has tough competition to fight. Samsung is already ruling the foldable space with its generations of foldables. The South Korean smartphone manufacturer recently launched the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and the Galaxy Z Fold 4. So, while Samsung is going mainstream, brands like Xiaomi, Vivo and all working hard enough to match up with the competition. In fact, some reports suggest that Apple is also building its foldable phone, which is said to go official in a year or two.

Now, with the upcoming Pixel Fold, Google will try hard to match up to Samsung’s level. It is believed that, just like its Pixel phones, the tablet will also offer outstanding cameras and its in-house chipset. The Pixel 7 series runs on Google’s own Tensor G2 chipset, which is said to be a slightly more upgraded version of the first-generation Tensor chip.
