Micromax IN Note 2 launch date confirmed, phone to pack three rear cameras

Micromax IN Note 2 is coming to India on January 25. The Indian company made the announcement through a Twitter post that also revealed what the phone will look like. The IN Note 2 seems to have been inspired by the Galaxy S20 with three cameras on the back. I think the design is interesting for the budget segment. Micromax’s teaser also revealed there will be at least two colour variants of the Micromax IN Note 2.
The Twitter post also confirmed the Micromax IN Note 2 will have a “Dazzling Glass finish”. I am not sure whether or not the phone will use the glass material on the back, but this does sound promising, considering it will be an affordable phone with great looks. The IN Note 2 will come with a punch-hole display with very narrow bezels on all sides, except for the chin.

Although Micromax has not said what panel the display would use, its interesting Twitter thread has got me guessing a few things. For instance, Micromax is hinting there is a possibility that this upcoming phone will have an AMOLED display. Actually, Micromax replied “Maybe” to a user’s question that said, “Can we expect amoled display on this smartphone?”

Micromax has also confirmed that the IN Note 2 will sell through Flipkart. Now, I am not sure about the sale dates right now, but you should be able to buy the phone from at least January 25, which is the launch date for the IN Note 2. The upcoming event is also where Micromax will reveal the price of the IN Note 2.

The last phone from Micromax was the IN 2b that it launched back in July. But the predecessor of the IN Note 2, the IN Note 1, was launched in November 2020. It was launched for Rs 10,999 but received a price hike to sell at Rs 11,999 last year, before ultimately the price was dropped to Rs 9,499,

Specifications-wise, the Micromax IN Note 1 has a 6.67-inch 1080p LCD with a punch-hole setup, and is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G85 processor. Micromax is giving up to 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage on the IN Note 1 along with support for a microSD card. There is a fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone.

For photography, the IN Note 1 has a 48-megapixel main camera, a 5-megapixel secondary camera, and two 2-megapixel cameras on the back, while for selfies, it has a 16-megapixel camera. The IN Note 1 is backed by a 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging. It also features reverse charging so that you can charge other smartphones and earbuds from it.
