Battlegrounds Mobile UC prices revised after players slam Krafton for prices higher than PUBG Mobile UC
Battlegrounds Mobile is all the rage right now. That is because it brings the
popular PUBG Mobile back to India, but also because it reignites the
anti-China sentiment that gradually faded last year. The call for a ban on
Battlegrounds Mobile India is getting bigger slowly, but there was small
trouble that Krafton faced recently. Several Battlegrounds Mobile players
slammed Krafton for keeping the UC prices for the Indian version much higher
than what UCs cost on PUBG Mobile Global. As a result, Krafton has announced a
revision of UC prices for Battlegrounds Mobile India.
In a statement, Krafton said, “...we have confirmed that the UC purchase price
in the BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA Early Access version is higher than that of
Global version.” It added that the revision brings the price of UC to “an
appropriate price” that goes in line with what players of PUBG Mobile Global
pay to buy Unknown Cash, better known as UC. And because the prices of UC are
now lowered, Krafton will be refunding the excess amount to players who have
already bought UCs in the game. However, the refund is in the form of UCs.
The smallest pack that credits your Battlegrounds Mobile India account with 60
UCs costs Rs 75 now, as opposed to the price of Rs 89 previously. The pack of
300+ UCs now costs Rs 380, down from Rs 449 earlier. This pack brings an extra
25 UCs for a limited period. The pack with the maximum number of UCs, 6000,
now costs Rs 7,500 and comes with 2,100 extra UCs. Its previous price was Rs
8,900. Notably, minors (under 18 players) cannot exceed a transaction beyond
Rs 7,000 in a day, according to the Terms of Service of Battlegrounds Mobile
India.

Krafton may have dodged this problem by reducing the prices of UCs, but there
is a larger problem brewing. Battlegrounds Mobile India is seemingly sending
data outside of India, something that could lead to a ban just like last
year’s. In an analysis by IGN India, Battlegrounds Mobile was spotted
establishing a connection with a server that belongs to China Mobile
Communication Corporation, which is China’s state-owned telecom company. A
ping was also sent to two servers that belong to China’s Tencent, which is
also the publisher of PUBG Mobile. Last year, the Indian government banned
PUBG Mobile for its China linkage and Battlegrounds Mobile India does not seem
to stray any further from that.
