Leica has a dedicated line of compact cameras that consists of V-Lux 5, D-Lux 7, and C-Lux. These cameras are affordable in comparison to the company's other camera series. The German camera maker has recently unveiled the Leica D-Lux 7 Street Kit. The pack comprises the new Leica D-Lux 7 black camera and some accessories. There is a COOPH wrist strap, hand grip, spare battery and an automatic lens cap.
The Leica D-Lux 7 black is a new colour version of the 2018-launched camera. The black version of the camera was unveiled in June, 2020. It is equipped with a zoom lens Leica DC Vario-Summilux 10.934mm F1.72.8 ASPH. As the company claims, the camera's zoom lens "delivers impressive results across all genres of photography: portrait, landscape, architecture, macro or photojournalism."
The camera boasts a 17-megapixel resolution, 11FPS continuous shooting speed and a sensitivity of ISO 200-25000. For the stills, users can derive both JPEG and RAW images. For the video recording capabilities, the D-Lux 7 can capture 4K videos at up to 30FPS.
Other features of the camera include a 3-inch rear LCD touch screen, an electronic viewfinder, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The D-Lux 7 is compatible with the Leica FOTOS App. Using the application, the camera can be remotely controlled from the smartphone to transfer the photos to iOS and Android devices. Photo takers can then make use of many options for sharing pictures directly on social media or after processing them with an image editing or post-processing app.
The Leica D-Lux 7 Street Kit is available in the United States for $1,549. Users can grab their hands on the Street Kit in Europe and Australia as well for £1,200 and AU$2,190 respectively. While the Street Kit is open to pre-orders in the mentioned parts of the world, its price and availability in India is not known. As of now, Indian users can only buy the Leica D-LUX 7 silver version at Rs 88,983.
