Vivo Y1s tipped for December launch, could come to India in partnership with Reliance Jio

It's no secret that Vivo is about to launch the V20 Pro in India, and now a new report has emerged that the company could also be looking to bring the entry-level Vivo Y1s to the country. The phone was first made official in Cambodia back in August and could finally make its way to India in December.

This information comes courtesy of tipster Mukul Sharma, who claims the handset will break cover in December in the country. As per the tipster, the phone will be available with a price tag of around Rs 8,000 and will be up for purchase from December. He has also claimed that Vivo will partner with Jio to sell the Vivo Y1s at a special discount. Sharing the offer details he revealed that Jio plans to offer shopping benefits as well as OTT benefits along with what appears to be an offer for a free screen replacement program.

Vivo Y1s: Specifications

The Vivo Y1s has already been launched in global markets before, so there is some understanding of the specifications it will offer. The phone as such could come to India with a 6.22-inch Halo Full View display capable of producing an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels. It will come with NEG T2X-1 screen protection and may measure 155.11 x 75.09 x 8.28mm and it weighs 161 grams.

The phone's display could flaunt a waterdrop notch, hiding inside itself a selfie camera of 5-megapixel. The phone's back could feature a single 13-megapixel camera with LED flash. The phone is expected to come running FunTouch OS 10.5 based Android 10 OS.

Under the hood, there is expected to be a 2.3GHz MediaTek Helio P35 chipset running the show here for Y1s. The phone could be powered by a 4,030mAh battery that supports reverse charging. Apart from this, the new Vivo phone could get 2 GB of LPPDR4x RAM and 32 GB of native storage. The phone, however, will also support MicroSD card support for additional storage. Apart from this, if Vivo follows the blueprint from the global model, then this device could be announced in Olive Black and Aurora Blue colors in India.
