India on Monday reported 45,903 new coronavirus cases, taking the tally to 85,53,657 according to the Union Health Ministry.
India recorded 490 deaths in the last 24 hours raising the death toll to 1,26,611.
The total number of active cases stands at 5,09,673 after a decrease of 2,992 in the last 24 hours.
Total recovered cases are at 79,17,373 with 48,405 new discharges in the last 24 hours.
Keeping with the trend of single-day Covid-19 recoveries outnumbering daily new cases, on Sunday, 49,082 patients recuperated from the disease in a day the Union Health Ministry said.
"New daily cases have been trending downward since October 15," the ministry said.
