After Salman Khan, Rohit Shetty has come forward to donate money for the wellbeing of daily wagers who work in the entertainment industry. Rohit has contributed a sum of Rs 51 lakh to the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), according to filmmaker Ashoke Pandit.

Pandit, who is also the chief advisor of FWICE, shared a video on Twitter and thanked the Golmaal director for his generosity during such critical times.

He captioned the video as, "Thank U #RohitShetty for your generosity towards the #DailyWageworkers of our entertainment industry. Ur massive contribution of 51 lakhs towards @fwice_mum in such times of crisis is really inspiring. #FWICEFightsCorona #IndiaFightsCorona (sic)."

In the clip, Pandit says, "The Federation of Western India Cine Employees is really thankful to lead film producer and director Rohit Shetty from the core of their hearts for donating Rs 51 lakh to the kitty of the federation...to help all the daily laborers of film and TV industry belonging to various crafts (sic)."

"Rohit, you have been an inspiration to us. You have always been helpful to us and whenever we have knocked at your door, you have never let us down. God Bless You and All The Best (sic)," he concluded.

Earlier, Salman Khan also extended his support to the daily wage workers. The actor pledged to financially support 25,000 workers by transferring the donation amount directly to their bank accounts.

"Salman's Being Human Foundation has come forward to help daily wage workers. They called us three days ago. We have about 5 lakh workers out of which 25,000 are in dire need of financial help. Being Human Foundation said they will take care of these workers on their own. They have asked for account details of these 25,000 workers as they want to ensure that money reaches them directly," the FWICE President BN Tiwari told PTI.

Coming back to Rohit Shetty, his upcoming film Sooryavanshi was postponed, along with many other movies, as all cinema halls were shut as part of the initial steps taken to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus.
