Ajay Devgn to Kartik Aaryan, Narendra Modi thanks Bollywood celebrities for contributing to PM-CARES Fund

From Kartik Aaryan to Ajay Devgn, many Bollywood celebrities have contributed to the PM-CARES Fund to help fight the novel coronavirus.

Now, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken to Twitter to thank them for their contributions. He wrote, "India’s stars are playing a starring role even in ensuring the health of the nation. They’re playing a leading role in raising awareness as well as in contributing to PM-CARES. Thanks, @nanagpatekar, @AjayDevgnFilms, @TheAaryanKartik and @TheShilpaShetty."

He also thanked singers Guru Randhawa and Badshah for their donations. He wrote, "People from all walks of life have contributed to PM-CARES. They have given their hard-earned money to sharpen the fight against COVID-19. I thank @Its_Badshah, @RanvirShorey and @GuruOfficial for contributing to PM-CARES. This will encourage research on defeating Coronavirus."

PM Narendra Modi announced the emergency relief fund on March 28 to fight the novel coronavirus. The pandemic has gained momentum in the country as the number of positive cases has climbed to 1438. The virus has claimed 41 lives in India till date.

Apart from these celebrities, Akshay Kumar, Vicky Kaushal, Katrina Kaif, Alia Bhatt, Sara Ali Khan, Varun Dhawan, Anushka Sharma, and Priyanka Chopra also contributed to PM-CARES Fund.
