WhatsApp rolling out new DND feature for web users, here’s how it works

Received a WhatsApp call on the web in the middle of a presentation? or getting disturbed by all the group call notifications? Well, WhatsApp's new feature will now help you turn off notifications for WhatsApp calls on Windows. The meta-owned app is releasing the new to disable notifications for calls feature to some beta testers through the official beta channel on the Microsoft Store.

According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is releasing the new feature with Windows 2.2250.4.0. Users who have updated their WhatsApp app for Windows might get the new option for disabling notifications within the app's settings. The new feature will help users to mute notifications for incoming WhatsApp calls if they don't want to receive them, as many times the system DND feature does not work due to network glitches and fails to mute WhatsApp calls.

Notably, WhatsApp allows calling on WhatsApp apps for Windows and macOS. So, users who are using WhatsApp on a web browser might not be able to start a call. Also, the disable call notification feature for the web is currently rolling out for Windows beta testers, so other users, including macOS users, will have to wait a bit longer to get the update.

How to disable WhatsApp call notification for Windows
Once the feature is rolled out to all the web users, once can easily disable notifications for calls following these steps.
Open WhatsApp web app.
Go to Settings> Notification.
If the feature is available under the Notification bar, toggle and turn off notifications for 'when WhatsApp is closed', messages and calls.
