WhatsApp’s upcoming undo button will help you retrieve chats deleted by mistake

WhatsApp’s upcoming list of features will surely make your experience on the messaging app better. WhatsApp is now working on a new tool to retrieve deleted messages. The current setup allows users to delete messages. And not just delete messages from their chat box but also the message that has been sent. However, sometimes in a rush, we do tend to press the “delete for me” instead of the “delete for everyone” option and land in a soup. WhatsApp’s new undo button will help you retrieve the chat that you have deleted by pressing the “delete for me” option.

As per Wabetanifo, which tracks all the latest developments related to WhatsApp, has reported that WhatsApp is planning to introduce an undo button soon. So, as per the screenshot, if a user presses a “delete for me” option, WhatsApp immediately displays a pop-up that asks whether the user wants to undo their action or not. The undo button is already available in messaging apps like Telegram. WhatsApp is likely to have a similar format as Telegram. As per that, a user will only get a couple of minutes or seconds to correct your actions.

WhatsApp has a lot of interesting features lined-up for users. The messaging app was spotted working on an edit button, which will let a user edit the messages after sending them.

WhatsApp was also spotted working on a working on a new chat filter for desktop users. The website had spotted the new feature in the WhatsApp Desktop Beta users on version 2.2221.1. As per the screenshot shared by XDA, the filter button appears next to the search bar. When you select the filter, WhatsApp will hide all the chats you have read and will only show the chats that you have not opened. After you have read all the unread chats, you can use a button to clear the filter and restore the original view.
