Oppo Enco Air 2 wireless earbuds launched, offer 24-hour battery life for Rs 2,499

Oppo has launched its new truly wireless earbuds Enco Air 2 in India. The new Enco Air 2 is the successor to the Enco Air, which was never launched in India. With Enco Air 2, Oppo is pushing further into the affordable wireless earbuds market, which is currently dominated by the likes of boAt and Realme. And since the new Oppo earbuds are budget-friendly, they are missing top-end features such as active noise cancellation.

If you are not concerned about noise cancellation and are looking for a pair of good-looking wireless earbuds, you can consider the Oppo Enco Air 2. Unlike many other earbuds, the Enco Air 2 comes with a translucent “jelly” like design on the charging case. You can actually see the earbuds through the lid. It is a nice touch to the overall look of the earbuds. The earbuds are also lightweight, so you do not have to worry about carrying them.

The Oppo Enco Air 2 comes at a price of Rs 2,499 and will be available to buy from Flipkart and the company’s online store. The earbuds come in white and black colours.

Oppo Enco Air 2 specifications
The Enco Air 2 looks very similar to the second-generation Apple AirPods except Oppo’s earbuds are a little more compact. There is a stem on each earbud but no silicone ear tips, which may be a reason to avoid the Enco Air 2. However, Oppo says the Enco Air 2 is a great fit for all types of ear sizes. Each earbud supports gestures on the area near the top of the stem. The earbuds support the company’s Flash Connect feature, which essentially is a custom name for Fast Pair. This feature allows an eligible Android phone to detect the earbuds automatically and prompt you to pair them on the screen.

Each earbud of the Oppo Enco Air 2 features a 13.4mm dynamic driver that, the company said, belts out bass-rich sound. These earbuds will appeal to people who like listening to genres like EDM and Bollywood more. The earbuds use Bluetooth 5.2 to establish a wireless connection with another device, such as your phone or laptop. That also means that the earbuds support low latency mode for gaming. You can use the HeyMelody app to toggle it on and off. This app also lets you turn on Enco Live sound effects and install firmware updates to the earbuds.

Oppo has claimed that the Enco Air 2 can last for 24 hours on a single charge. That includes the charge from both earbuds and the case. The earbuds carry a 27mAh battery each, while the case has a 440mAh battery. There is a USB-C port on the bottom of the charging case for charging. You get the cable bundled in the retail box. According to the company, the Enco Air 2 takes around 1.5 hours to fully charge the earbuds, but charging both the case and earbuds simultaneously takes about two hours.

The new Enco Air 2 comes with support for standard audio codecs, AAC and SBC. That means these earbuds will support streaming from all leading apps. We have finally begun to see earbuds with support for Dolby Atmos in the affordable range, so it would have been better if the Enco Air 2 supported that, as well. Although there is no active noise cancellation on the Enco Air 2, you get AI noise cancellation, which, Oppo said, will reduce noise during calls.
