iQOO Neo 6 is set to launch on April 13, could arrive with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC

iQOO is all set to announce a new smartphone in China. The company has started posting teasers of its upcoming iQOO Neo 6 device. One of them confirms that this premium phone will launch on April 13. At the moment, there is no word on when this device will make its debut in other markets, including India.
The iQOO Neo 6 will likely be a successor to the iQOO Neo 5 smartphone. The company launched this handset in India in 2021, but with a different name. The iQOO 7, which is currently available in India for Rs 29,990, was made available in the country as a rebranded version of the iQOO Neo 5.

The iQOO Neo 6 is being pitched by the company as a flagship gaming phone. This suggests that the handset could pack a high-end chip. The Geekbench listing has suggested that the device could launch with Qualcomm’s top-notch Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. The same chip is powering some of the 2022 flagship phones, including the OnePlus 10 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S22 series.

The listing also suggested that the device could be offered with up to 12GB of RAM. It is expected to ship with Android 12 out of the box. The rumor mill has claimed that the upcoming iQOO phone could pack a standard display with support for a high refresh rate. It is said to come with a 6.2-inch AMOLED 120Hz screen, which will likely operate at Full HD+ resolution.

Under the hood, there could be a 4,700mAh battery. iQOO might add support for 80W wired charging as well. OnePlus is also said to launch a mid-range Nord 2T smartphone in the coming months, which will reportedly have support for 80W fast charging. The rest of the details are currently unknown.

In India, iQOO recently launched three smartphones, including the iQOO 9, iQOO 9 SE, and iQOO 9 Pro. These devices fall under different price segments. The iQOO 9 SE is the cheapest device in the series and comes with a starting price of Rs 33,990. The Pro version is priced at Rs 64,990, while the standard model will cost you Rs 42,990.

The iQOO 9 Pro features the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip, whereas the regular model packs a Snapdragon 888+ SoC, which is still pretty powerful. The lower-end model is equipped with a high-end Snapdragon 888 chipset
