WhatsApp may add animation effect to heart emojis within chats

WhatsApp is soon expected to add animation to all the heart emojis that one will find in the emoji section of the messaging app. The screenshots shared by WaBetaInfo suggest that all the colours of the heart emoji will get an animation effect, which will improve their visual appeal.
Currently, only the red heart emoji offers a beating animation. But, soon, people will be able to send coloured heart emojis with beating animation. This feature is currently under development and is also not available for beta testers, as per the cited source.

WhatsApp is expected to release this minor update for both Android and iOS platforms. The same animation is already available for WhatsApp Web and Desktop versions. So, one can check the new animation effect on these platforms before the release. However, the mobile version of WhatsApp will still show you different heart emojis without any animation.

Besides, WhatsApp is also working on a feature called ‘Message reactions.’ This will let users react to messages with specific emojis. This emoji will be clipped to the message. In simpler terms, WhatsApp will display a reaction info tab, which will show who all reacted to a message with emojis.

This way, you won’t be required to send separate emojis by tagging a specific message. This feature is similar to how Instagram allows users to react to posts or messages with emojis in the ‘Direct Message’ (DM) section.

The feature has reportedly been spotted in one of the iOS beta versions. The platform is yet to roll out ‘Message reactions’ for Android beta testers. It is currently unknown as to when the company plans to release it for all the platforms.

Apart from this, the messaging app is also said to be planning to add two new visual indicators in Call and Status, which will remind users that WhatsApp is offering end-to-end encryption for personal calls and status as well. The feature was recently spotted on the iOS version of WhatsApp. The company is also expected to roll out the same update for Android users.
