OnePlus Nord 2 CE may launch by February in India, says new report

According to a new report, OnePlus is working on a Core Edition variant of the OnePlus Nord 2. The OnePlus Nord 2 CE is currently rumored to launch in the first quarter of 2022. The smartphone will borrow some of the core features of the original OnePlus Nord 2.
The OnePlus Nord 2 CE is expected to be the successor of the first-generation OnePlus Nord CE that was introduced earlier this year. And like the first-gen phone, it is expected to offer the best of the OnePlus phone at an affordable price point.

The report revealed the phone will be a rebranded Oppo Reno 7 SE 5G with a few changes. It will come with MediaTek Dimensity 900 SoC with up to 12GB RAM and up to 256GB storage.

According to tipster Yogesh Brar, OnePlus Nord 2 CE is expected to get launched before February next year. His tweet read, “Reading stories about the OnePlus Nord 2 CE launching soon as it popped on some database. Well, the stories are incorrect, the phone has been sitting on BIS for a long time now (nothing exclusive). Like I said in a detailed leak last week, it will not launch anytime before February.”

The OnePlus Nord 2 CE, codenamed Ivan, is said to be in the works. The handset with the model number IV2201 was recently discovered in the Bureau of Indian Standards database (BIS).

The OnePlus Nord 2 CE details have previously been leaked online in their entirety. It is intended to run on OxygenOS 12, based on Android 12. A 6.4-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate could be included in the forthcoming OnePlus device.

Unlike the first-generation Nord CE, the Nord CE 2 is rumoured to come with a microSD card slot. The upcoming smartphone is expected to come with Android 12 based OxygenOS 12. The smartphone will be powered by a 4,500 mAh battery with 65W fast charging support.

The OnePlus Nord CE 2 is expected to come with a triple rear camera setup, including a 64 megapixel primary OmniVision sensor, an 8 megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 2 megapixel macro lens. It would have a 16 megapixel camera housed inside the punch-hole cutout.

A 3.5mm audio jack is also expected to be included. It is also likely to include an alert slider. Other connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, dual SIM, microSD card slot, GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. It is expected to cost between Rs. 24,000 and Rs. 28,000 in India.
