YouTube testing a new loop button that would save users from hitting replay button

YouTube could soon launch a much-needed feature for the users who browse the app on their smartphones. The Google-owned company is reportedly testing a new loop button for the app that would save users from hitting the replay button every time they want to watch something all over again. YouTube already has the loop feature for web users but this time it might roll out for smartphone users.

As per DroidMaze, YouTube has started testing the loop video feature with limited users. The report states that the feature will be initially rolled out to the Android users as YouTube was found testing it on the Android for YouTube app. Users will get the option of turning on the loop video feature on the three-dot menu in the app.

Sometimes when you want to listen to a song or watch a video, again and again, that is where the loop feature comes to the rescue. For instance, if you want to keep listening to the song or a playlist, you can turn on the loop feature on the app. Similarly, you can also disable the feature because you do not want all the videos to start playing all over again.

Some users have reported seeing the loop video feature in their apps, but we were unable to find the feature in the latest YouTube Android app.

On a related note, YouTube informed all its users via email that it will update its new terms of service from June 1. There are three major changes that YouTube announced. The first is facial recognition restrictions-YouTube has said no user can collect any information that might identify a person without their permission. While this has always included facial recognition information, the new Terms make that explicitly clear.

Another point is YouTube’s right to monetise content. The company has said that it has the right to monetise all content on the platform and ads may appear on videos from channels not in the YouTube Partner Program.

YouTube has also announced updated payments policies. “For creators entitled to revenue payments, such payments will be treated as royalties from a U.S. tax perspective and Google will withhold taxes where required by law. Please make sure you read the updates to the Terms carefully. The new Terms will take effect on June 1, 2021, for users outside the U.S. By continuing to use YouTube after this date, you are agreeing to the new Terms. Please note, if you allow your child to use YouTube Kids, then you are agreeing to the new Terms on behalf of your child as well,” the email read.
