WhatsApp will show real-time voice waveforms when you record a voice message

WhatsApp has been reportedly testing a lot of new features to enhance the user experience. The latest feature the messaging app is working on is an improved voice message feature. The reports reveal that WhatsApp will now start displaying real-time voice waveforms when you record a new voice message. Apart from that, WhatsApp has also removed the online status from Business accounts.

As per Wabetainfo, WhatsApp has temporarily enabled waveforms for voice messages. The real-time waveforms will start appearing when you record voice messages. The feature has been spotted in the WhatsApp beta version for Android, and it is currently under development.

“After releasing voice waveforms on WhatsApp beta for Android 2.21.13.17, WhatsApp has decided to pull out the feature, in order to add some fixes and improvements before the next activation. As you know, waveforms will replace the seek progress bar, but that’s not all: WhatsApp is developing another feature that uses voice waveforms! The feature has been spotted in a future WhatsApp update, so it’s not available yet for the public,” the Wabetainfo report read.

Wabetainfo has also shared a demo video that shows how the feature will work. The user can also stop recording and listen to their voice message before hitting the send button. The WhatsApp features tracker reveals that the feature is under development on WhatsApp beta for Android and iOS. WhatsApp is yet to make the feature official.

WhatsApp had also secretly removed the status from the Business accounts on WhatsApp beta for Android. This means that Business accounts will no longer display whether they are online or not. If you are a beta tester, you would notice that the Business accounts that you are chatting with will only display “Business account” below the contact name, It would not show the status. This change has only been in the Android beta. You can still check the status though WhatsApp beta for iOS and WhatsApp web.

“When you’re chatting with a business account from WhatsApp beta for Android 2.21.13.17, you will just see “Business account” instead of “online” or “last seen today at”: so Business accounts can be invisible on WhatsApp, at least if the recipient is using the latest Android beta. It’s still possible to see the online status and last seen from WhatsApp Web and WhatsApp for iOS but, if WhatsApp won’t revert those changes in the next beta update, this news will be implemented on WhatsApp Web and WhatsApp for iOS as well,” the report said.
