Tata Sky makes free Classroom service available to all users for enhanced virtual learning
Tata Sky, India’s content distribution and Pay-TV platform, has introduced free unrestricted access to educational content on TV through the Tata Sky Classroom service. Tata Sky Classroom is available on channel 653 and is available to all subscribers at no additional cost. Tata Sky's virtual educational service is aimed at improving the digital learning scenario in Tier 2, 3 and 4 cities. The company notes that the Tata Sky Classroom characterises and enables an engaging and interactive learning process. This service is powered by Tata ClassEdge.
The service also comes at a time when schools have not fully reopened and are moving towards virtual learning in the backdrop of the coronavirus pandemic. The service facilitates the need for virtual learning to be a part of the new normal to adequately equip students across India.
Tata Sky notes that the virtual classroom service "enables immense flexibility to students in far off and remote areas to access quality education via the TV without any hassle thereby saving money, time and energy."
Tata Sky Classroom will give access to over 700 animated concept learning videos for Maths and Science available ad-free in both Hindi and English. The service available in both Hindi and English offers curriculum-based content for students from class 5th to 8th in Maths and Science and is mapped with the CBSE school syllabus.
Tata Sky further notes that the Classroom service focuses on concept learning, enabling students to strengthen their core understanding of the fundamentals of Science and Maths. It provides content that includes fun and engaging animated concept learning videos. Apart from video lessons, students can also avail of fun curriculum-based games, full-length practice tests, and sample papers with answers to help reinforce their learning from the videos.
