Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro tipped to get four-sided WQHD+ display with support for 120Hz refresh rate

Xiaomi's rumoured to be working on new flagships, the Mi 11 and 11 Pro smartphones. If leaks and rumours are to be believed, these phones will come as upgrades over the Mi 10 and 10T series of phones from this year and will bring top-of-the-line hardware and pair it with a modern and sleek design.

The phones are expected to be launched in January next year, and ahead of its launch fresh details about the more premium, Mi 11 Pro have emerged. As per a new report, the Mi 11 Pro will house a display that will be a big upgrade over the Mi 10 Pro's which could refresh at 1080p resolution and refreshed at 90Hz. This is because the display on the device is now expected to be a WQHD+ panel with four-sided curves and support for 120Hz refresh. The phone is also tipped to come with a single selfie camera sensor housed inside a punch-hole on the top-left corner of the screen.

Apart from this, the phone has been previously tipped to come with a Snapdragon 875 SoC making it the first Chinese phone to be powered by this particular chipset. Talking about the Snapdragon 875 SoC, it is likely to comprise of one Cortex-X1 core, three Cortex-A78 cores, and four Cortex-A55 cores and is expected to be around 20 percent more power-efficient and 10 per cent more powerful than the Snapdragon 865. In fact, some reports have also claimed that the new Snapdragon Qualcomm chipset would be faster than Apple’s A14 Bionic chipset.

As for cameras, the Mi 11 is expected to get powerful lenses that could even eclipse the megapixel count of the camera found on its predecessor. It is expected the main camera sensor could range from 108-megapixel to 192-megapixels. Other lenses could include a 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with upgraded image stabilization features and a tiny 0.8 m pixel size.

Although nothing has been said officially, the Mi 11 series is widely tipped to be launched by the company in its home country China as early as January next year. It has been claimed that initially the phone will be exclusive to the Chinese market, and could remain to be so for a few weeks or months, after which it will eventually be launched globally. If the leaked timeline is followed, the Mi 11 would launch very close, and possibly even before Samsung's Galaxy S30 series which is expected to launch in the US in January.
