Rohit Sharma believes Mumbai Indians will have slight psychological advantage over Delhi Capitals

Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma acknowledges the 'slight psychological advantage' his team holds over opponents Delhi Capitals ahead of the big final but refuses to dwell on past victories.

Mumbai Indians will be taking on Delhi Capitals for the fourth time in IPL 2020 on Tuesday. Notably, MI had steamrolled DC in their previous three meetings during the season.

"There will be a psychological advantage a little bit, yes, but again what we have seen with IPL is every day is a fresh day, every day is a new pressure and every game is a new game.

"So you can't think too much about what has happened in the past," Rohit Sharma said on Monday.

"To be honest, we can't think about that we have played these guys before and we have beaten them. We just need to think that they are a new opponent and what will we do as a team against that opponent," Rohit added.

"It is that simple for us and we keep doing the right things on the field, I am sure we will have the fifth one in the bag."

Hope Boult plays in final: Rohit Sharma

Ahead of the title-deciding match, MI skipper Rohit Sharma gave an injury update on Trent Boult and said that the pacer is expected to play on Tuesday. Boult has been MI’s go-to bowler in the powerplays. While Jasprit Bumrah has bagged a lot of his wickets in the death overs, the New Zealand international has hardly missed when it comes to deceiving batters in the first 6 overs.

Trent looks pretty good. He is going to have a session today with all of us and we will see how he goes, he pulled up pretty well in the last few days, so fingers crossed and hope he plays," the skipper said.

'Credit goes to Mumbai Indians team management'

"Let me tell you that, you know right from No 1 Quinton De Kock to No 11 Jasprit Bumrah, all these players were available for all the squads, but we invested in them at the start and we had faith in them."

"A lot of credit goes to Mumbai Indians team management, the scout, they have done a great job with all these guys making sure they get that comfort, they get that backing, otherwise it is not possible, it is not possible to have a squad like that," he said.

'Never going to captain another team against MI'

"Firstly, it is never going to happen, I am never going to go in the opposition camp, and captain the other team against MI," Rohit said, making his priorities clear.
