Despite being a difficult time for business, the laptop market in India has seen constant growth over the last few months. This is because 2020 till now has seen a number of new laptops being launched, with many of them offering great value both in terms of money and performance.

While choosing the best among them can be a difficult task, there are a few obvious options that do stand out above in the laptop market in the country. These laptops provide a good mix of design, features, and raw power to handle not only productivity tasks but also gaming.

So read on to know our pick of the best laptops available this November.

MacBook Air

First on the list is Apple's MacBook Air which only last night received its latest upgrade in the form of the M1 chipset from the Apple Silicon family. This is a 13-inch MacBook that has been announced to retail at a starting price of Rs 92,900 in India and will be available for purchase from November 17.

Apple has revealed that the MacBook Air uses the M1 chip which comes with up to 8-core CPU and 8-core GPU to achieve 11 trillion operations per second. The powerful 8-core CPU performs up to 3.5x faster than the previous generation processors and clocks up to 5x faster GPU performance than the previous generation MacBook Air. Interestingly, Apple also claims the new MacBook Air features the best battery life on a MacBook Air to date, as it promises up to 15 hours of wireless web browsing and up to 18 hours of video playback.

Asus ROG Zephyrus G14

This one of the most powerful laptops on the list and is the perfect choice for users looking to buy a gaming machine that can double up as a laptop for productivity-related tasks. This flagship from the ROG line-up comes to India powered by the AMD Ryzen 9 4900HS processor with up to 8 cores and 16 threads, for powerful performance. The laptop also comes with a custom cooling system, and up to an RTX 2060 MaxQ GPU from NVIDIA.

Other features of the laptop include a UHD resolution Pantone validated 100% sRGB color-accurate display. The Zephyrus G14 is 17.9mm thin and is quite light at 1.6kg. It features a Magnesium-Alloy keyboard frame with fingerprint-resistance in a dot matrix design. The laptop also comes equipped with features such as a fingerprint sensor for one-touch log-in with Windows Hello. The Zephyrus G14 is available in two models, with and without AniMe Matrix. For the latter, the price starts at Rs 80,990, while the former is a little more expensive at Rs 98,990.

Dell G5 15

Dell's G5 15 is part of a small list of laptops that can truly double up both as productivity and gaming laptops. However, the G5 15 is a little on the heavier side at slightly under 2.5kgs. It comes with a Full HD display and under the hood, we have a 10th Gen Core i7 10750H mobile processor sat next to 8GB of RAM. This has been paired to 512B of storage.

The laptop does not set the world on fire with its amazing feature set or the raw processing power it brings. However, it does offer good value for money and design as well as hardware that's suited for both gaming and productivity tasks.

Honor MagicBook 15

Honor MagicBook 15 features a 15.6-inch display with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels. It is powered by an AMD Ryzen 5 processor coupled with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD storage. For graphics, the MagicBook 15 comes powered by a Radeon Vega 8 GPU. The laptop also brings Windows 10 out of the box.

For connectivity, it offers 3 USB ports including the USB 2.0, USB 3.0, and USB 3.1 along with an HDMI port, Headphone, and Mic jacks. There's also a Type-C charging port that can support fast charging at 65W. The laptop has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs 42,999.

Mi Notebook 14: Horizon Edition

Mi Notebook 14 Horizon Edition is the flagship laptop from Xiaomi this year and features a sleek design with a narrow-bezel display. The Horizon Edition comes with a 14-inch Full HD display that has a screen-to-body ratio of 91 per cent.

Made out of Aluminium and Magnesium alloy, the laptop weighs at 1.35Kg. Inside, there’s a standard keyboard with scissor keys that Xiaomi says have 1.3mm of key travel. When it comes to connectivity the Horizon Edition features two USB 3.1 ports, a USB 2.0 port, a Type-C port, HDMI 1.4b port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a charging port.

As for performance, the Horizon Edition comes with an option to choose between a 10th Gen Core i5 and 10th Gen Core i7 processor. Both the variants come as standard with 8GB DDR4 RAM clocked at 2666MHz. Of the two, the Core i5 variant is more affordable and comes in at a price of Rs 54,999, while the Core i7 variant retails for Rs 59,999.
