PM Modi’s turbine theory splits Twitter, fans dig out old Rahul Gandhi videos to hit back

What did PM Modi say?
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had on Tuesday spoken to Henrik Anderson, president and CEO of one of the biggest wind turbine companies - Vestas - about a host of issues related to the wind energy sector. In the video clip shared by Rahul Gandhi, PM Modi is seen talking to Henrik Anderson about the diversified role of turbines.
“At places where moisture is more, turbines could suck water and provide clean, drinking water. This way, with wind energy, we can also get water from the air,” PM Modi tells Vestas CEO.
PM Modi added that this could solve the problem of drinking water in coastal areas.
PM Narendra Modi then suggested tapping the potential of separating oxygen from the air through turbines. “This will be challenging but if it can be done, the oxygen market can be captured. This will be three-in-one with energy, we get water and oxygen,” PM Modi said.
What did Rahul Gandhi say?
Congress leader and MP Rahul Gandhi alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not understand the science behind windmills. Taking a dig at the prime minister over his ideas on wind turbine energy, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday said, “The real danger to India isn’t that the PM doesn’t understand but that people around him lack the guts to tell him that.”
What is Twitter saying?
Twitter is split in half. One side is poking fun at PM Modi’s ideas, while the other is finds them visionary.
One Twitter user compared PM Modi’s ideas with Union minister Arjun Ram Meghwal’s claim that a brand of papads could cure coronavirus.
Another social media user agreed with PM Modi on water extraction from air but disputed the idea of extracting pure oxygen. “Extracting water from air is a good idea But why would PM Modi suggest to extract oxygen from air? Breathing pure oxygen can be poisonous for humans. The air we breath is only 21% oxygen,” the tweet said.
“If we add Bhabhi ji papad on a Turbine , it could suck Corona Virus from air.Turbine_Theory,” he said.
