OnePlus Nord users have a reason to rejoice. Today, OnePlus announced that it is rolling out the OxygenOS 10.5.9 update for its affordable Android phone. The most notable features that arrive with the new update are Game Space and the Android Security patch for the month of October. This update is not a major one, but it does help games specifically who will no longer have to scour their app gallery to find games. The Game Space will group all games into a single folder, along with system optimisations to kick in as soon as it is opened.
OnePlus has had a good track record when it comes to rolling out software updates. And it becomes a compelling pitch for people who may be eyeing the Nord but now have more reasons to get the phone. October is almost over, and the security patch is now rolling out. Although, the last month’s security path did take more time than usual. The Android Security patch rolled out at the beginning of October, but it should have been released in the September end. Anyway, this month’s updates are right on time.
What else are you getting with the new OxygenOS update?
OnePlus Nord users will see the new quick reply feature, mis-touch prevention feature, and Bluetooth connection stability among other things. The network reliability has also been improved as a part of the OxygenOS 10.5.9 version. OnePlus has also addressed some bugs with the update but that is all. In case you were waiting to get Android 11 software on your OnePlus Nord, it will not happen until late 2020 or early 2021. OnePlus Nord currently runs on Android 10 version.To update your OnePlus Nord, you need to head to phone settings. After that navigate to System and then System Updates. The tool will perform an automatic search to see if there is an update available. After it is spotted, you will be asked to download and install the update. Make sure you have enough battery and that all your important data is backed up beforehand.
