Covid-19: Oxford scientists develop extremely rapid diagnostic test, will give results in minutes

Researchers at Oxford University have developed an extremely rapid diagnostic test for Covid-19, Reuters reported. The university said it hoped to start product development of the testing device in early 2021 and have an approved device available six months afterwards.
As per a statement quoted by Reuters, Oxford University scientists from the department of physics developed an extremely rapid diagnostic test that detects, identifies viruses in less than 5 minutes.
Researchers aim to develop an integrated device to eventually be used for Covid-19 testing in sites such as businesses, airports etc, the statement read.
The university added that product development will start by 2021, and will have an approved device available within 6 months of that time.
