KKR vs SRH: Shubman Gill says Kolkata batsmen are well prepared to tackle spin threat of Rashid Khan

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will be clashing against each other in their second match of the IPL 2020 season on Saturday and having lost their respective openers they will look to win the match and get on the points table.

Both the team's look very strong on the paper and a nail-biting contest can be on the cards in Abu Dhabi's Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium. Apart from the batting firepower that both the team's have, the contests between the spinners of two teams will also generate a lot of interest.

While, SRH boast of T20 specialist Rashid Khan, KKR have Sunil Narine and Kuldeep Yadav in their arsenal. KKR and SRH have good player of spin in the match and it would be interesting see who gets better of whom.

Talking ahead of the clash, KKR's opener Shubman Gill said that his team are well prepared for "experienced" SRH bowling unit. The young batsman said that KKR have prepared well for the spinners in the net sessions and they were confident of executing their plans in the match.

Shubman Gill, who failed to scored much versus Mumbai Indians in the first match, said that presence of left-hand batsmen Nitish Rana and Eoin Morgan will help negate the Rashid Khan threat for them.

"The wicket will get slow and favour spinners as the tournament moves ahead. At the moment medium pacers are getting swing under the lights initially.

"They have got a very experienced bowling attack .We have practiced well for situations when bowlers are at the top, we just need to bring those things to the game.

Everyone has practiced against spin very well and we are very confident.

"With Nitish and Eoin Morgan we will be in a better position to tackle the threat of Rashid and off-spinners. A left-hand right-hand combination will help us," he said.

When asked about his interactions from captain Dinesh Karthik and star all-rounder Andre Russell, Gill said that he has been advised by the duo to play his specified role in the team. Shubman Gill, 21, said his only goal is to finish the matches for his team.

"I keep on talking to DK bhai and Russell. They keep on telling me that everyone has a fixed role and they ask me to perform my role.

"We have a lot of variation in our team. We have got a left-arm spinner, chinaman leg-spinner and we have a nice spin attack," Shubman Gill concluded.
