Delhi Dy CM Manish Sisodia tests negative for Covid-19, discharged from hospital

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who was battling double infection of Covid-19 and dengue, has been discharged from hospital after testing negative on Tuesday.

Manish Sisodia had tested positive for coronavirus on September 14 and was under home isolation. He was admitted to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) Hospital for treatment on September 23 and was diagnosed with dengue a day later.

Sisodia was then shifted to Max hospital in Delhi's Saket on September 24 after a "falling" blood platelet count and low oxygen level and was administered convalescent plasma therapy the next day.

The deputy chief minister's condition improved after he was administered convalescent plasma.

On Monday, Manish Sisodia told news agency ANI that he was feeling much better and could be discharged in a day or two.

"I am feeling much better now. If everything goes well, I will be free from the hospital in a day or two," Sisodia said.

Doctors have advised Sisodia one week's rest before resuming work.
