Bollywood drug probe: Reasons why Kshitij Prasad is arrested by the NCB

After two days of questioning and seizing marijuana from Kshitij Prasad's home, the NCB arrested him on Saturday (September 26). According to the sources, Kshitij was evasive to most questions and therefore his custodial interrogation is important. He is closely associated with Ankush Arneja, who has already been arrested by the NCB. Ankush runs a high profile kitchen in south Mumbai.

The NCB investigation revealed that Ankush Arneja was selling contrabands, like MDMA and weed, to some high-profile individuals, including businessmen and A-list Bollywood celebrities. Sources said Kshitij would buy drugs from Ankush who would arrange them from other drug peddlers.

Kshitij Prasad has claimed to be an occasional consumer of marijuana and took it for recreational purposes. However, he has denied selling drugs.

The NCB sources also revealed that Ankush Arneja used to buy drugs from Sanket Patel, who is a drug peddler arrested by the NCB. He was part of the network of Anuj Keshwani and Karamjeet Singh, who were mentioned in Showik Chakraborty's drug chats.

The main purpose of the NCB questioning the celebrities is to understand their connection with drug peddlers. The agency wants to nab the drug peddlers, who are the kingpins in the drug scene in Mumbai, through the celebrities.

During the interrogation of Kshitij Prasad, the NCB got to know about the connection of the former Dharmatic Entertainment employee with the arrested drug peddlers, Ankush, Anuj and Karamjeet. The agency also retrieved WhatsApp chats of Kshitij with the drug peddlers. The chats establish that Kshitij discussed drugs with the peddlers.
