Wajid Khan dies at 42: Sonam Kapoor remembers music director with fond memory

Wajid Khan of the famous music composer duo Sajid-Wajid died at the age of 42 on Monday. The music composer, director and singer had tested positive for the novel coronavirus a few days ago. He was also suffering from kidney ailments and had undergone a kidney transplant a few months ago.
After the music composer passed away, many Bollywood celebrities took to social media to remember him and pay their tributes. Sonam Kapoor also joined stars to pay last respects to the music director. She posted an old picture with Wajid Khan and remembered a fond memory that she shared with him. She tweeted the image with the caption, "Rest in peace #WajidKhanThe news of Wajid's death was confirmed by music composer Salim Merchant. He told PTI that Wajid had been admitted at the Surana Hospital a few days ago, where his condition deteriorated.
"He had multiple issues. He had a kidney issue and had a transplant a while ago. But recently he got to know about kidney infection... He was on the ventilator for the last four days, after his situation started getting worse. Kidney infection was the beginning and then he got critical," Salim told PTI.
The duo Sajid-Wajid made their debut in Bollywood with Salman Khan’s 1998 film Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya. Wajid even co-composed Salman’s songs Pyaar Karona and Bhai Bhai during the novel coronavirus lockdown. The songs were shot at the actor’s Panvel farmhouse and released on his YouTube channel
