India fast bowler Mohammed Shami continues to help the fight against Covid-19 pandemic by setting up food distribution stalls in his hometown in Uttar Pradesh.

Mohammed Shami has set up stalls for distributing masks and food along the National Highway 24 in Uttar Pradesh. The fast bowler has also set up a food distribution stall outside his residence in Sahaspur.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday shared a clip in which Shami can be seen distributing food packets to migrant workers who are traveling to their hometowns by road.

"As #IndiaFightsCorona, @MdShami11 comes forward to help people trying to reach home by distributing food packets & masks on National Highway No. 24 in Uttar Pradesh. He has also set up food distribution centers near his house in Sahaspur.

"We are in this together," the BCCI said.

Several Indian sports stars have come forward to do their bit in helping the country fight the novel coronavirus outbreak. The Covid-19 pandemic has brought normal lives to a grinding halt. Even as lockdown restrictions are easing, migrant workers have been the worst hit across the country. Not just their livelihoods, several of them lost their lives while trying to get back to their hometowns from major cities.
