Stones pelted, petrol bombs hurled: Nursing home staff narrates how rioters vandalised premises during Delhi violence

As tales of horror continue to emerge from riot-affected areas from Delhi's North-East district, a nursing home staffer recounted how enraged rioters vandalized premises on February 24.
The nursing home in Bhajanpura area - one of the riot-affected areas in northeast Delhi - was attacked by a mob when doctors were treating patients inside. Some of those patients were children. Chaos followed as the angry mob started pelting stones and petrol bombs.
When India Today TV visited the nursing home, the doctor's room had been completely ravaged while other equipment like telephones were also lying damaged. A similar scene was observed outside the nursing home where cars were burnt by rioters.
thirty-five people were killed and over 200 injured in the clashes that broke out in northeast Delhi three days ago after violence between anti and pro Citizenship (Amendment) Act groups spiraled out of control.
Frenzied mobs torched houses, shops, vehicles, a petrol pump and pelted stones at local residents and police personnel. Jaffrabad, Maujpur, Babarpur, Yamuna Vihar, Bhajanpura, Chand Bagh, Shiv Vihar are among the areas mainly affected by the riots.
