Apple iPhone 12 to be thinner than iPhone 11 Pro Max, says report
Rumors have been flowing in from every source months before Apple officially releases the iPhone 12 lineup later this year. From size, design to the number of cameras, as well as the possibility of an iPhone 8 look-alike budget iPhone, there are anticipatory remarks and leaks flying around from various sources.
Adding to that list, there is a new report that reveals that the 6.7 inches iPhone 12 may be thinner in size than its 2019 high-end model, the iPhone 11 Pro Max.
According to fresh renders reported on Japanese blog Mac Otakara, it is possible that the 6.7-inch iPhone 12 will be 7.4mm, which is significantly thinner than the 8.1mm design of the iPhone 11 Pro Max. The report also notes that the 6.7-inch iPhone 12 will feature a camera system with a “bigger sensor than the rear camera of iPhone 11 Pro Max. Moreover, it is also possible that the iPhone 12 lineup could have the “same housing design" as the iPhone 11, but with more enhanced camera technology. The new report on the design front of the iPhone 12 series is quite unlike what known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reported. He had earlier said that the iPhone 12 would feature a boxier design similar to the iPhone 4 as part of a significant chassis redesign.
Moreover, the report also corroborates the fact that the 5.4-inch and 6.1-inch models will feature dual-camera setups. In an earlier report, Kuo had also mentioned that there will be a separate variant of the 6.1-inch model, apart from the 6.7-inch one, that will feature a triple-camera setup and a 3D time-of-flight sensor. Well, there's more to it. According to several rumors, Apple may be launching the much-awaited iPhone SE successor, which may either be known as the iPhone SE 2 or iPhone 9, or something absolutely different. This handset will be unlike other iPhone models that Apple will announce in their 2020 event later this year as it will retain the palm-friendly size and also bring back the Touch ID that went missing since the launch of iPhone X and higher models.
